Both Duchess and Winnie accompany all trail rides from the stable next door. Duchess may also enter the Hobby category since her specialty is finding and bringing home dried animal products—from carcasses to cow patties. She eitfoys the game of floating her treasure downstream and swimming after it.
The Most Unusual Friendship award may be shared by Cinnamon, a young cat from Old Mill Stables, who sleeps on the back of Nash, a thoroughbred gelding.
There are countless other categories to be assigned as the pets are brought to be judged by the committee. Larry LeHew, Joint Master of the Rappahannock Hounds, has agreed to be master of ceremonies.
