Seventh race on the card is the open hurdle race and 15 horses have been entered for this.

The Ben Venue course in Rappahannock County is a picturesque one and seems to be popular among riders, according to Mrs. Gilman.

“It is a nice free riding round course with no sharp turns,” said Mrs. Gilman. “It looks beautiful right now, and if the weather holds it should be a perfect day.”

In between some of the races James Atkins, huntsman for the Old Dominion Hunt, will be giving a demonstration of how the hounds work out in the hunt field.

Ben Venue is located on Rt. 729 west of Warrenton off Rt. 211. General admission to the races will be $3.
