Don’t look now but the Town of Sperryville is about to be reborn.
Of course nobody in Sperryville will say that; they are too wise, too cautious, they are waiting in the wings, so to speak.
Huh? What are they waiting for? The future? Sort of.
More specifically they’re waiting to see what hard work and cooperation will bring to Sperryville.
Many entrepreneurs in the area are taking an interest in the future of the whole town rather than just the progress of their own business. The idea, of course, is that what’s good for Sperryville is and will be good for businesses. So measures have been taken to promote the town and to prepare for its future.
Toward that end entrepreneurs recently revived the Sperryville Business Council, of which James Swindler II, co-owner and manager of Country Manor on Route 211, is president. In an interview, Swindler said the council was off to a good start. He is encouraged by the fact that businesses are working together. After all, “We’re competing against each other but we’re working together to bring more people out (to Sperryville) so all will benefit.”
