At one time, Paul did lurp team work. A lurp team was made up of five people who worked behind enemy lines. “We were turned out into the jungle with instructions to harass the enemy using booby traps, mines—whatever,” Paul said. He worked for the Department of Defense in Thailand for a while and helped to set up bombing raids. “I was ‘camouflaged’ all during that time because while you’re doing DOD assignments you’re described as a cook or something,” Paul said. “I was in on the penetration of Cambodia when we tried to set up a government, but we backed the wrong one.”
Paul was a member of the ICCS peace keeping force as a security officer when he discovered that he was staying in a haunted building. “I was stationed in a village, and when I moved into this building there no one said anything to me about any problems,” Paul said. “Then at night I would hear the sound of pages turning and footsteps.” The village chief finally told Paul that the building had been the school, and that 16 children had died there when it was bombed.
Bombing became more and more frequent at the village. The ICCS peace keeping force was made up of representatives from two communist countries and two non-communist governments. “It got to the point that the village was under almost constant mortar fire, and the communists would try to say that the South Vietnamese were doing the firing so I went out and dug up the spent shells to show them that they were Soviet made,” Paul said. “The place was in a constant state of
