that Singapore was clean, designed for tourists, with the number one language being English, and that Americans were well liked there. “I met an ex-rodeo rider in a club, and we got into a dart game,” Paul said. “While we played, we talked about the oil business, which he was involved in, and he told me that he would rather have someone like me with no oil field training than to have to re-train the Americans from the States so that they could work with the larger oil rig that had to be used.”
After that conversation, Paul decided to keep on trying for an oil company job even though his money was running out. "I lived off of one hamburger and water for about a week because I couldn't get my money out of Vietnam and money from the States hadn’t reached me.” Paul said. “Finally, 1 got a call from Petro-Sea International, a company operating out of Australia."
