George Krumbhar, 48, of Washington, D.C. ran the race in “around 50 minutes.” He seemed less interested in his time, though, than the fact that the top 300 runners received athletic bags. “It’s great for local business,” he said, sporting his own bag stuffed with pottery, grape jelly and assorted handicrafts. He went on a shopping spree after running the race. What about the Fodderstack? “It’s one of the nicest races I’ve run in. The area is so pretty.”
