In the sixth Porter again had no trouble stopping three Clarke batters. Then the Panthers came to bat growling. Porter led off with single to right. Rob Brown’s shot to left, with the help of an error, scored Porter all the way from first. Brown got to second. Then he took third on a wild pitch and was finally sent home on a sacrifice fly by Chucky Jenkins. With two runners left on base, Rappahannock could have done more damage but they had to settle for a two-run inning. That turned out to be enough.
Although he gave up a ground rule double, Porter struckout two in the seventh inning. The game ended with the Panthers ahead 4-2.
