writing of their recent trip to Georgia, which she says:
On April 13 the class of 1935 of Pleasant Grove School in Dalton, of which Doris was a member, celebrated the 50th anniversary of their graduation with a banquet at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, which was attended by class members still living and their spouses. This was a delighful affair with beautifully decorated tables, lovely food, flowers for everyone, door prizes and a great deal of reminiscing. Doris claims all she did was write letters and make a few phone calls; the class members, of whom only one besides Doris isn’t still in Dalton, did all the rest. A good time was had by all, to the extent that they voted to get together again each year as long as there are those who are able to travel.
On Sunday, Doris and Frank went to Gainesville to visit Doris’ sister who resides in a nursing home.
On Tuesday the class reunion celebration resumed with a lovely luncheon at Town and Country Restaurant. This event was attended by the favorite teacher of the class who lives at Miami Beach and was unable to be present for the banquet on Saturday. The luncheon was another lovely affair with plenty of warm fellowship. The local paper sent a photographer who took pictures to be used in the paper. Doris says this is the most exciting experience she has ever ,« had. She was class president and vale-* dictorian. There was a lot of hugging, kissing and some teas and everyone was happy to be together again.
