“The Frogs”
Wakefield School in Huntly will present its annual spring play this Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. This year’s production, a comedy entitled “The Frogo”, was a smash when first produced in Athens in 406 B.C., again a smash when updated in the 1960s by the Yale Repertory Theater and promises to repeat the process in its new, up-to-date version by the Wakefield Players under the direction of Pamela Lynn.
Disgusted with the current state of the theater, Dioysus, god of drama (and wine!), makes a hilarious journey to the underworld to bring back some “old blood” (dead) to add “new life” to today’s drama. The results surprise even him.
The public is invited for an evening of side-splitting humor, satire and some slap-stick, and nostalgia. Tickets are available at the door: $2 for students and $3 for adults.
