After tabling action on two requests for sjtecial use permits at its regular meeting Oct. 14, the Washington Town Council resolved both matters at a second meeting held last Wednesday.
Lewis and Alice Butler had asked the council to approve their application for a utility pole on the south side of Blue Ridge Ave. to carry electric power to a house they, are constructing in that area. After a public hearing on Oct. 14, the council tabled the request after hearing that one adjacent landowner had not received the required notice about the hearing. Several council members also expressed reluctance to grant a request for an additional utility pole since they have expressed a desire to eventually bury all utility lines in the town.
The Butlers, however, argued that the price which they had been given for burying the service line, $2,000 to $2,500, was prohibitively expensive. Tliey said that it would also require the highway depart
