Civil War historian and author John Devine, of Leesburg, will discuss “Robert E. Lee, Man and Soldier” at the meeting of the Rappahannock Historical Society Nov. 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the County Courthouse in Washington. The public is invited.
The Body and the Earth:
A workshop for women artists
A weekend workshop for women artists interested in exploring the connections between the creative process and the use of the body as a channel for psychic energy and expression will be offered by Denise Hershkowitz Horton, Ph.D., on Nov. 7-8 at Golden Horse Farm in Hume. Activities will include a native American sweat lodge ceremony, body casting, and construction of a ritual birthing room. Improvizational movement and dance rituals will be highlighted. Hot tub, hiking, and medicine wheel will be available. Dr. Horton is a licensed clinical psychologist and writer in private practice in Washington, D.C., and Rappahannock County.
