Council member Ray Gooch suggested “good judgement and good sense” be exercised rather than specific hours.
Mr. Thomasson also reminded the council that the Comprehensive Plan fixes 8 p.m. as a “reasonable hour” for businesses to remain open.
Mr. Fisher said he felt that the use of the property falls within the guidelines of the Comprehensive Plan, and moved that the special use permit be approved. Mayor Morehouse agreed, adding that it’s “an ideal use, a great application of the property.”
The permit was approved unanimously by the council by a 6-0 vote.
