Turkeywalk for Heart Assn.
The Rappahannock County Chapter of the American Heart Association will sponsor a Turkeywalk on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. until noon. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to benefit the Heart Association. The six-mile walk will be held in Old Hollow. Walkers will meet at the Thornton Gap Primitive Baptist Church at the intersections of Rts. 612 and 600. Participants who raise $50 in pledges will receive long-sleeve T-shirts sporting the “Turkeywalk” logo; $100 will net the participant a T-shirt and a Thanksgiving turkey. ‘Outrageous Fortune’
Outrageous Fortune will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7 and 8. Shelley Long and Bette Midler are a scream as two aspiring actresses who loathe each other but are in love with the same man! Peter Coyote co-stars as the seedy Romeo who has been romancing them both. Determined to track him down and force him to choose between them, Long and Midler take off on a wild, cross-country chase. Comedian George Carlin adds to the frantic * fun as a ’60s burnout who becomes an unwilling partner in Long’s and Midler’s crazy escapades. The movie is rated R. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.

Culpeper Baptist bazaar
Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community will hold its Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The facility is located on Route 15 south of Culpeper. Some of the handmade crafts to be sold include Christmas decorations, wreaths, afghans, dolls, bird houses, ceramics, woodwork, baked goods and more. There will also be a white elephant sale. Begin your Christmas shopping with us. Santa Claus will be stopping by from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
