Mr. Foulds says that the situation is made more confusing by the fact that new “work incentive” provisions took effect in the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program in July. “Some beneficiaries may confuse the SSI work incentives and the earnings rules outlined in this SSA stuffer,” said Mr. Foulds. He said that there have been no changes in the earnings rules for non-SSI disability recipients.
Rappahannock Legal Services is a legal aid organization funded by the federal, state, and some county and city governments, which provides legal representation in noncriminal cases to low-income people.
