The Virginia Health Services Cost Review findings released this week show Culpeper Memorial Hospital’s rates are lower than most other area hospitals.
“The average charge per admission is the best comparison between hospitals,” said Jim Rutowski, CMH controller, “and CMH was the only hospital in HSA I to show a decrease.”
The average charge per admission at CMH decreased 1.3 percent to $2,683.62.
The average charge per admission of our geographic region (HSA I) increased 12 percent. Even with this increase to $2,951.28, HSA I is one of the two lowest-cost regions in the state.
The statewide average charge per admission increased to $3,547.10 with the highest charges of $4,395.50 in HSA IV around Richmond and $4,359.14 in HSA V in Tidewater.
