Golden Pecan Pie
3/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp. flour
Pinch salt
3 eggs, well beaten
1 cup light com syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. margarine, softened
1 cup pecans
1 unbaked pie shell
Combine dry ingredients in large mixing bowl. Add eggs, syrup, vanilla and margarine; beat with electric mixer until blended. Stir in pecans. Pour mixture into pastry shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.
The Pennsylvania Dutch epjoy Shoofly Pie, a very sweet pie made with molasses. There are two kinds of shoofly pie - wet and dry pie. The dry bottom version resembles a coffee cake texture and is frequently served for breakfast. If you epjoy dunking, you will enjoy this version. Wet bottom shoofly pie might be considered to be a distant cousin of the pecan pie because of flavor and consistency.
