Third lawsuit filed

The Wakefield Board of Directors has made former headmistress Pamela W. Lynn an offer to end their battle for control of the school, but the deadline for her to agree passed Tuesday.
According to Mrs. Lynn, the board offered her a two-year sabbatical with pay on the condition she not speak about or involve herself with the school or its operation. In return, she said, the board said it would try to assume the school’s nearly $1 million debt from Mrs. Lynn’s mother-in-law, Clydetta Lynn. Pamela Lynn said the family would not agree to those terms.
In another development, a third lawsuit was generated this week, with Clydetta Lynn entering a “suit to quiet title” against lawyers William Bassett and Robert Miller and Board of Directors chairman Lynn Hopewell.
The suit is an attempt for Clydetta Lynn to regain the deed to the property, a deed she signed over to the Educo Trust earlier this year. Mr. Bassett and Mr. Miller are the trust’s trustees, and Mr. Bassett is in physical possession of the deed, said Mr. Miller.
“We’re going to file an answer and probably plead this deed into court,” asking a judge to decide its fate, said Mr. Miller Tuesday.
Pamela Lynn said this week that “nothing would surprise me anymore,” when asked to comment about the $1 million libel suit filed against her by Mr. Miller last week.
