Among the 250 people who attended Sheriff John Henry Woodward’s fund raising dinner and contributed $3,900 to his re-election campaign were three of the five members of the Board of Supervisors including the chairman, the chairman of the School Board, the chairman of the Library Board, and all the other constitutional officers.
The tables set at the Castleton Fire Hall, where Sheriff Woodward serves as chief, were full of people eating and talking. The food never ran out, but the baked beans were getting pretty thin toward the end.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke said, “I think he’s done a good job. Since he’s taken over, he has increased the efficiency of the office. He’s always acted in a professional manner.
