Mr. and Mrs. William M.

Carrigan extend a cordial invitation to the people of Rappahannock to share with them an evening of celebration on Independence Day, July 4th, 1971 at Avon Hall, Washington, Virginia. Luminaries, displays, exhibits and rocket fireworks will be shown on the ground around Avon Lake, beginning about 7:00 o’clock p.m. Fireworks display will begin at 9:00 p.m.

A Title I Summer Program will be held for all children in Rappahannock County entering first grade in the fall for the first time. The program will run from July 8-July 29, 1971 at Rappahannock County Elementary School. Transportation along main routes will be provided. A schedule of bus routes will be published later.
