Feast Fantastic to be held
Shenandoah Feast Fantastic will be held at the 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal from noon until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Camp Fantastic and YES - Youth Experience & Success.
Benefit church dinner
A dinner to benefit Promise Land Baptist Church will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 at Pine Knot Inn. The menu will consist of chitterlings, $5; chicken, $4 and pig feet, $3.50 with choice of two vegetables, rolls, iced tea or coffee. Desserts extra. Local delivery is available for $1. Horse show planned
Due to rain the horse show planned at Old Mill Stables last weekend was canceled and will be held starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 29. For more information call Moody Aylor at 987-8215.
Beef BBQ planned
The Amissville Ruritan Club’s 30th annual Beef BBQ will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 at the Amissville fire hall. Price is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. For details call Buddy at 937-5972.
Antique show and sale
The first annual Rappahannock' County Antique Show and Sale will be held at Rappahannock Elementary Sept. 28 and 29. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and early bird is from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday. Regular admission will be $3.50 and early bird costs $15. There will be quality merchandise, moderate prices and no reproductions and will benefit the Child Care and Learning Center. Interested dealers should contact Charles A. Fourth of July celebration
Great Meadow will host a powerful new 4th of July celebration this year with a special theme based on celebration of the Bicentennial of the American Bill of Rights.
After high praise for its spectacular fireworks display here last year, the 200-year-old French pyrotechnics designer Ruggieri has again been selected to stage the fireworks, including a special surprise 1 re-creation from Operation Desert Storm.
A number of special events are planned, including national cham- • pion stunt pilot Earl Andrews, who will perform over Great Meadow in his 400-mph Pitt Special.
A jousting tournament, jugglers and strolling minstrels will entertain arrivals, together with relay and sack races for small children. Food services will be available. Gates open at 5 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dark.
Advance tickets will go on sale at area outlets in June. Watch the Fauquier Times-Democrat, sponsor of the event, for location of ticket outlets. Great Meadow is located between The Plains and Warrenton near 1-66, a short drive from Rappahannock County.
