New librarian Nicki Lynch was on hand to greet the small crowd that had gathered for the opening of the new library Monday.
She reported that the move went very smoothly, and that Dieter Knuepfer, who volunteered to organize the move is “a wonderful man who actually moved all the books alphabetically.”
She said the move was carried out with 15 pickup trucks and volunteers including members of the Lion’s Club and Library Board. She also thanked the sheriff who sent over “the fellows from the jail who provided much of the muscle power.”
With lots of shelf space there are no books on the bottom shelves, and “we’ve been able to get the large print books out into the open in light,” Mrs. Lynch said.
