The folk ensemble Trapezoid will appear this week at the Bluemont Concert Series 1991 Saturday Warren Green Concerts at 7:30 p.m. June 29 in Old Towti Warrenton.
The group’s music soars with Bob Read’s flute, clarinet, saxophone and piano; it finds its lyricism and classical roots with the hammer dulcimer and guitar of Rappahannock’s Paul Reisler; and is powerful with the voices of Martha Sandefer and violinist Cheryl Hurwitz.
Trapezoid is often described a “new age Appalachian ensemble” that creates its own style of music. Their innovative approach has spanned more than 16 years of national and international touring and recordings.
Trapezoid has performed concerts all over North America and Asia, recorded six albums of their own and over a dozen with other recording artists including John McCutcheon and Holly Near.
Families are encouraged to bring a blanket and a picnic to the concert. A requested donation is $3. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held indoors at Warrenton Junior High School. (There will be abroadcast over local radio stations.)

The Bluemont Concert Series has announced the rest of its 1991 summer schedule for the Warren Green Concerts.
The popular series of outdoor family concerts began June 22 and continues each Saturday through Aug. 24.
