The Town of Washington’s Board of Zoning Appeals turned down a request for a variance from front, rear and side setback requirements for a house last Thursday evening.
It was the first time in six years the board had met to consider such an application. In 1985 they had also denied a request for a variance from setback requirements for a garage addition.
Actually the board had met once in the six-year interval. The week before last they met to organize and elect officers since several new members had been appointed. They elected Peter Skowronski chairman, Mitzi Young vice-chairman and Charles Eldred secretary. Other members are Mary Updike and Joan Frizzell.
Fredette Eagle wanted to put a log cabin with a board and batten addition on an approximately 27- by 42foot lot that now holds a dilapidated shed, which fills the entire lot.
