Pamela Lynn sued Mr. Miller, Mr. Bassett, Mr. Hopewell and the entire Board of Directors in May, trying to regain control of the school. She dropped the suit a week later, then was served with Mr. Mincer’s libel suit.
Mr. Miller said he has not received a response to the suit from Pamela Lynn or her attorney.
Pamela Lynn and her late husband, Dr. William Lynn Jr., founded Wakefield 19 years ago on land owned by Clydetta Lynn on U.S. 522 in Huntly. Following Dr. Lynn’s sudden death two years ago Pamela Lynn was acting headmistress. Mr* Bassett and Mr. Miller helped her set up the Educo Trust and the Board of Directors to try to relieve Clydetta Lynn’s finanical liability and to conform with rules of the Virginia Association of Independent Schools. Pamela Lynn hand-picked the board and was named vice president for curriculum. The board stripped her of that title in January, setting off the current controversy.

Mr. Hopewell has said he and tlfe board intend to “vigorously defend” their right to the property. With the eviction date July 1, they are expected to act soon. ’
Mr. Hopewell reportedly fell 51 Monday and could not be reached for comment. Mr. Bassett was also unavailable to comment this week. !
