The Virginia State Bar Council has urged every Virginia lawyer to donate 2 percent of his or her professional time to performing services for low-income clients “pro bono publico,” that is, “for the public good.” Rappahannock Legal Services presently has pro bono panels in place in each of the five counties of PD-9 consisting of local attorneys willing to volunteer their time to handle legal aid’s case overflow.
