Mrs. Rippeon was bqrn Aug. 21, 1913 in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late William H. and Elizabeth S. Jenkins Burke. She was retired from Crown Cork & Seal as a quality control inspector and was a member of the Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church. She was the wife of the late Harry Z. Rippeon Sr.
Surviving are four daughters, Sharon Ditto of Hagerstown, Md., Joyce Cain of Stephens City, Joan Cassell of Great Falls and Sandra Campbell of Winchester; a son, Harry Z. Rippeon Jr. of Tappahannock; a sister, Dolly White of Winchester; a brother, Raymond Burke of Winchester; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Raymond F. Campbell, Jim A. Cassell, Thomas F. Cain, Larry A. Cain, Christopher A. Cain, Douglas A. Campbell and Zack Rippeon.

Margaret “Peggy” Thornton Brown, 65, of Tazewell, died Friday, June 21 at her residence.
Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 17, 1923 in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Phillip Lee and Mildred Miller Thornton.
