“Our cooperative, along with others in the state and nation, is working on programs to modify or take use beyond the REA program,” he observed. “Although our area is changing, we are still rural. So the need for the program is still there but the (REA financing) program itself is changing and may not be there in the future.”
Referring to cooperative research into alternate sources for long-term financing, Mr. Viverette stated that “our cooperative, no matter what changes are made . . . will be there to meet your needs.”
“We are working to assure that this organization is in the proper position to make the proper decisions,” he concluded.
