The Rappahannock High girls basketball team hopes to translate a strong turn-out into Bull Run District wins this fall, according to coach Renee Leake.
Mrs. Leake actively recruited players during the spring and summer, and as a result both the varsity and jayvee teams contain some very talented players.
The varsity’s inside game should be strong, she said, and will rely on 5-10 forward-guard Sherrbn Boddie for rebounding. Center Leah Marlett, another returning player, will co-captain the team with Boddie.
Jane Jenson, a 5-10 centerforward, is a new player this year, and is an exchange student from Denmark. Coach Leake said she should bolster the team’s play in the paint.
