Dan Lewis holds show
"New Works by Dan Lewis," the gallery founder, runs through Sept. 29 at the Middle Street Gallery and Artists' Cooperative in Washington.
Mr. Lewis' mostly oil show features scenes from Rappahannock County.

Fauquier SPCA benefit
The Fauquier SPCA will holds its seventh annual Benefit Dance Sept. 7 at Fat Tuesday's in Warrenton. A buffet dinner will begin at 7:30 p.m. with dancing to the music of Robert Rogers' RNB at 9 p.m.
The cost for the dinner and dancing is $35 per person; dancing after dinner is $20.
There will be an auctfon of several items including a dinner for two at Four and Twenty Blackbirds, a dinner for two at Fantastico, and one-week's use of a threebedroom house in St. Martin.
Also, there will a $10,000 drawing, with 200 raffle tickets selling for $100 each. Prizes will be $8,000, $1,000, $500 and $500.
The dress code is casual.
