There is something new on the doorsteps of Rappahannock County stores.
They are four friends band together to form a new musical group, “522 Bluegrass.”
Getting practice and offering entertainment, Steve Mallory, his younger brother, Ben, and two friends, Rich Drake and Alan Resseman, have appeared several Saturday evenings on the steps of Laurel Mills Store and Viewtown Store.
The band plays without compensation, their full-time daily jobs supporting their new-found hobby, though they hope to book private parties, social events, parties and other occassions in the future.
“It’s like a practice session but with people there,” Ben Mallory, a carpenter from Castleton, said of these early gigs, his brother’s idea, offering a new charm to match the charm of country stores familiar in Rappahannock County.
The four organized their band just a few months ago after they met at Ronnie Poe’s garage in Amissyille.
