It happens every year — the Labor Day weekend arrives and with it comes the first day of school.
This year Rappahannock Public Schools had one surprise: enrollment jumped from 945 students last year to 973 on the first day of classes Tuesday.
Superintendent David Gangel said the school division plans in a 1.5 percent increse, but the 3 percent jump was attributed to about 15 students entering the public schools after attending Wakefield School last year.
Although the 1991-92 school budget figures are based on an attendance of 950 students, Dr. Gangel said he does not anticipate any problems to arise from the influx this year. Just the opposite, he said, as
