Mr. Baumgardner noted that Andy Guest, who has represented Rappahannock County, is “one of the most influential Republicans in the house, and even he couldn’t get a seat drawn in his favor, If Jerry Wood, someone who has never held office, has enough influence to get a district drawn for him, then he is a man of great influence, and we’d better hurry to send him to Richmond.”
Bill Barr, chairman of the Fauquier Democratic Party nominated Mr. Wood saying, “He exemplifies the best Virginia values, fiscally conservative, watchful over the environment, and concerned for good education for all citizens.”
Warren County Democratic Chairman Edgar Baldwin seconded the nomination.
