Washington Carnival opened last night and will continue through Saturday night when the awarding of prizes will take place. Highlighting the activities tonight, Thursday, will be the selection of a new honorary fire chief and the naming of Little Miss Washington. Friday night’s feature is a grand parade which will travel along the old section of Route 211 in the town. Entries include fire and rescue equipment, majorette groups and singles, bicycles, antique cars, marching units and many more.
There will be two softball games Sunday, September 5 at 3 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School field. Reynolds Royals vs. Trinity Terrors and the Northern Mets vs. the Southern Mets.
