Afghan hounds and has taken them to dog shows from as far as Minnesota and Miami and as close as Middleburgand Maryland.
“You would be surprised how many people in this area are involved in pet shows,” she said.
Originally from Virginia Beach, Mrs. Bare and her husband spent several years visiting the county, vowing they would make their home here.
With her husband’s move to Northern Virginia, the dream came true and 15 years ago they made the move.
Mrs. Bare spent time working for a vet, Dr. Dove of Gainesville, and with McClanahan’s Camera and Sound in Warrenton before taking the plunge into her own business.
Since she had show dogs, much of the necessary equipment for grooming was at her disposal.
Before her business started, Mrs. Bare worked with a grooming service that offered pick-up-and-delivery service for pets.
“Most customers prefer it,” she said with a smile.
She speaks softly and slowly, a by-product of her years spent with dogs and cats.
