The planners also voted to recommend rezoning land owned by Everett Estes Sr. from Agricultural to General Commercial and rezone other land owned by Mr. Estes from General Commercial to Agricultural. The property is located on the south side of U.S. 211 adjacent to Hillsdale Grocery.
The site plan Mr. Estes brought was not drawn to scale. The planners recommendation for approval was contingent on the application including a site plan drawn to scale. Also Mr. Estes had requested a Ushaped piece for rezoning that would have wrapped around Hillsdale. The planners indicated that they had no problem with allowing Mr. Estes commercial zoning for a driveway to his shop but they would not necessarily approve rezoning that would allow two commercial entrances onto U.S. 211.
