highlights of the conference for participants were Dr. Beck’s talk, learning about the Waldorf school and sharing ideas.
Ideas shared in the workshops ranged from teaching one letter at the Waldorf school, to setting up a writing workshop to teach composition to fifth graders, and to using the short stories of Edgar Allen Poe to teach remedial reading in high school. Other topics were using a hot-dog-selling fundraiser to teach second grade mathematics, bringing the world of nature into the classroom, and practical lessons from participating in 4-H animal projects.
