country business, and she often leaves her home as early as 7 a.m. for a pet, to return it in evening hours when the owner has returned from work.
“It’s been a real plus and convenience for people here,” she said, adding many people commute to Northern Virginia and southern Maryland creating time conflicts with normal business hours.
And, what better time to photograph a pet than when it’s clean and groomed?
“It goes hand-in-hand with grooming,” said Mrs. Bare.
In 1975, she began her photography studies, taking classes at community colleges and buying camera equipment.
After grooming “is the perfect time” for photos.
“If you have an eye and the patience and some camera knowledge, you can do it,” she said.
Her photography services are often required by friends, at shows and for customers.
She cuddles a kitten named Fishhooks.
“You have to feel good about what you are doing,” she said with a smile.
“I feel like I’m doing something good.”
