Yet, in some ways the cloth bodies and bead faces appear of African heritage. Others, with their jeweled bodies and ornate heads, appear Russian or Bavarian. “Each one really has its own personality, don’t they?” the artist questioned as she arranged the floral dress of a female doll around her before placing her next to a tall, solidlooking male Indian doll.
