The new plan calls for $410,000 in 1993, $400,000 in 1994, $420,000 in 1995, and $428,000 in 1996. It doesn’t include anything for 1997, the last year on the new plan.
County Administrator John McCarthy said that the higher figures are due to the state’s requirement that new cells in the landfill have a double liner. He said that a new cell would be required about every other year.
Mr. McCarthy said that Kimmins Recycling Corp. of Florida, which was exploring a regional waste facility in Page County, had dropped its option to purchase land in Page County for the facility, but that Page County was still interested in pursuing a regional facility.
The original plan called for com-, puterizing the records and billing from the Commissioner of Revenue and Treasurer’s offices, starting in 1991. At that time Mr. McCarthy said the county could enter into a lease purchase agreement with a supplier to complete the conversion to a computerized operation over a four-year period. Those plans were delayed. They called for an expenditure of $32,000 between 1991 and 1994. The new plan calls for $86,000 to be spent on the project over five years between 1993 and 1997.
