The First Friday lecture at the Rappahannock Library will be “The Best of All Worlds: Living and Working in Rappahannock County,” 8p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.
The program is co-sponsored by the Rappahannock Farmers’ Association and features the following four speakers:
• Miriam Harris will discuss organic farming and present a slide show.
• A1 Kellert will examine the grape industry and also present a slide show.
• Jim Massie Jr.’s topic will be cattle fanning.
• Alex Sharp will talk about apple growing in the county.
The four will each talk about 15 minutes, followed by a panel discussion with the audience.
Refreshments will be provided. Babysitting is available, but call the library by Monday at 675-3780 to reserve a spot (a small donation is requested).
January’s First Friday program will examine resources around the county such as the national park, the 4-H Center, the Smithsonian research station and others.
