The Miler’s Club will continue all year. Mrs. Alexander’s third grade class last year worked on a “Russian Project” to obtain surgical supplies for a Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Russia. The supplies left Rappahannock County on June 7, and finally arrived at the hospital on Aug. 5. The plastic gloves and hypodermic needles will certainly help improve the sanitary conditions at the hospital, and thus save lives.
Start thinking about your costumes for the Halloween Fair (date is not yet decided). The theme is Storybook Characters. How exciting to see children’s literature in costume!
The second PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Kirk Halgren will speak about the RJR Nabisco Project currently in the school.
Please begin saving your Safeway receipts (dated from Sept. 9) and your Giant receipts (beginning Oct. 11). These receipts are collected and exchanged for computer equipment.
