The Rappahannock Lions, at their Aug. 26th meeting, were honored to receive an important message personally delivered by District 24-A Gov. Warren 0. Woolsey.
Gov. Woolsey had attended the 75th Lions Club International Convention held from June 23-26 in Hong Kong. He has since been busy informing clubs within his jurisdiction about the significance to International Lionism of the historic activities he shared with over 18,000 other Lions and their families from most of the nations in the wold. It was reported to be the largest convention ever hosted by the colorful Crown Colony of Hong Kong.
Sharing this memorable experience with District 24-A clubs is no easy task since the District includes most of the Lions Clubs in Northern Virginia, from Fredericksburg to Middleburg, Alexandria and Arlington to Manassas and, of course, including our neighbors in Warrenton, Culpeper and Rappahannock. District 24-A includes over 75 clubs and still counting. The Rappahannock Club is not the biggest in the District but we all believe it is certainly one of the best.
We have just commenced our 1992-93 year having recently elected a new slate of officers and directors who comprise the current board. Roger Andrews is the new president; Michael Mahoney, past president; John Hartline, secretary;
