Horse show set
The Old Rag Mountain Pony Club Horse Show will be held beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4 at Hayday Farm in Culpeper. Entry fee is $6 per class. Food will be available on the grounds. For further information call Janet Bly at 937-4448, evenings.
Coppage reunion
The annual reunion of the late George and Florence Coppage will be held Sept. 27 at the Rappahannock Park, Washington. All friends and relatives are urged to attend. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
Group to attend ceremony
The Thomas, Lord Culpeper Chapter, Colonial Dames XVIIth Century, in lieu of the October meeting, will attend the dedication of a historic marker at the “Enchanged Castle” on Route 3 in Orange County. The ceremony, which will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 is being sponsored by the Necostin Chapter, CDXVIIC. Chapter members are to meet at the parking lot of the Culpeper Holiday Inn at 10:15 a.m. to car pool to the marking. The group will return to the Inn for a dutch treat lunch following the ceremony.
Flea market planned
A fall flea market and car wash will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. Those interested in renting a space should call 987-9402 or 675-3049. Baked goods, books, clothing and more will be available. This event is sponsored by the Rappahannock Elementary PTO and the Rappahannock High School yearbook staff.
Home schooling meeting
The Home Educators Association of Rappahannock (HEAR) will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28 at the Rappahannock County Library. Anyone interested in home schooling is invited to meet others, update our telephone tree and share ideas for the 1992-1993 school year. For more information call Diane Wood at 987-8267.
Trail ride planned
An Old Rag Mountain Pony Club trail ride will be held beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 near Sperryville. Fee is $10 per rider and everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass for six people. A valid coggins test within 12 month per horse must be presented at registration. For more information call 547-3452.
