'Sister Act' is movie
“Sister Act,” rated PG, starring Whoopi Goldberg will be shown at The Theatre at Washington, Va. on Sunday, the weekly EAAC-sponsored movie.
Whoopi plays a lounge singer who witnesses her mobster boyfriend, Harvey Keitel execute a goon. Detective Bill Nunn hides her away in a convent for protection until the trial can be set for Keitel’s crimes. Naturally just imagining Whoopi in a nun’s habit is enough to make you laugh. So incognito she uses her musical talents and literally transforms overnight the rusty nun’s choir into a synchronized, multiharmonic soul ensemble, with wacky religious renditions of hymns.
