I am pleased to announce that Mr. and Mrs. Kenner Love have agreed to be leaders of the 4-H Teen Club this year. They will be assisted by Tommy Williams.
Many of you met Mr. Love when he chaperoned the field trip to Tangier Island last spring and when he taught the Creeks and Critters class at 4-H Day Camp this summer. The cost for pizza is $4 per person. Important: Call the Extension Office by Monday, Sept. 21 if you can come, so well know how many to plan for.
• 4-H Livestock Club - 7:30 p.m., Oct. 5 at Katie, Justin and Scott Updike’s home. Mr. Updike will present a program to the club. The Jr. Stockman’s Contest at the State Fair is Friday, Oct. 2.
• Chester Gap 4-H Cloverbud Camp - 7 p.m. Oct. 6 and 20. For children 6-8 at Chester Gap fire hall. The leader is Kim Gilkey-Breeden (636-5601).
• Slate Mills 4-H Club — Oct. 13, 4:30 p.m. at home of Karen Ramey. This a new 4-H club being organized for 1992-93. Children ages 9-12 are invited to join. The club plans to study reptiles and wildlife as their 4H projects. The October program will be on turtles. Call Karen Ramey, 4-H leader at 547-2010 or the Extension office for information.
