We did not know that day or we would have gone there too, that directly about (or behind) due west of Joe Darnell’s place was that of Benjamin Menefee. Here is located another cemetery. There is only one readable tombstone and that of Catherine, wife of Benjamin Menefee.

Next we came upon a small house seat, and we were told that Ernest and Matt Nunn Atkins had lived here. From other documentation we learned that they may have lived here but didn’t own the land. Tenant farmer and wife as it were. Here must have been the place where old Thomas Atkins (another of my great-great-great-grandfathers) died. In very poor conditions to say the least, from the accounts I received.
