That same spring afternoon the weather got warm and, as is my habit, I turned on the car’s air conditioner and left the window on the driver’s side open.
Then I heard George say, “You should either put up the window or turn off the air conditioner. You’re wasting gas and I hate waste.”
I took the opportunity to remind the Congressman it was my gas and he reminded me I didn’t think the U.S. Government paid enough for mileage traveled on official business, yet I wasn’t using my gasoline efficiently. I shut off the air conditioner.
