we continued from here on down and came eventually to the cabin of Mr. Krutilla. Mr. Krutilla and his wife had bought the Lucy Cornwell (Cornell) place in 1962, or one hundred and twenty-nine acres. This plot of land was that of Lucy’s husband, William Rice Cornell who had sold it to his wife rather than making a will. William (or Billy) and Lucy Cornell were parents of James Bryant Cornell, husband of Ida Dwyer Cornell mentioned above. All of the Cornell property was not taken by the government.
We walked down as far as Magdalene Dwyer’s and told her of our finds. We were a little exhausted though in good spirits but had other business pressing and did not tarry. Then to our relief, Ike Beahm who was “coming after his wife” at Sally’s house decided to come up the road, whereupon he found five vagabonds hitching a ride, via: Sally D. Keyser, Elna Cornell Beahm, Dorothy Kelley McWaters, Annie Dwyer and W.F. Baldwin.
