Sarah, a 10th grader, won the senior instrumental competition playing Edvard Grieg’s “The Butterfly” on the piano. Ninth grader Rachel Tester was second playing Ludwig Von Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata.”

In junior competition fourth grader Dale 'Forrester was first playing the third movement of Seitz’s violin Concerto #5 accompanied by Beverly Clark on piano. Seventh grader James Kelly was second playing dementi’s piano Sonatina Op. 36, No. 3.
Both had younger brothers who also performed in the competition.
Dale’s younger brother, first grader Hugh Forrester, amazed the audience by playing “Long, Long Ago” on a scaled down cello.
James’s younger brother, fourth grader Ben Kelly, displayed lots of stage presense while playing “Casey Jones” on the piano.
There were no senior division entrants in vocal competition. So the winner of the junior division advances. Fifth grader Rachel Lucas sung Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “Memories” accompanied by Norma
