There is little immediate danger of Hoffman trying for champion jockey Blythe Miller’s job, though. “I like what I do,” he said. “It is best to combine riding with my work in New York. Ideally, though, Virginia is an ideal place to retire, and I’d do that in a heartbeat. If I won the lottery, I’d move back [to northern Virginia] and take up training full time. But for now, I blend the two.”
